December 2006

Monthly Ride
Decembers rideout to The Greyhound was a great success considering we're in the depths of winter, with about 15 scooters meeting and leaving the Piazza and several others meeting us there. Those leaving the Piazza seemed to find three different ways there though.

By the way, apologies to all for printing the wrong date in last months newsletter, though I hope you all spotted that (a) Peanut Duck was the 3rd, not the 15th, and (b) that the 15th isn't a Sunday anyway.

January's rideout will be Sunday 14th January and will, as always, be a double pointer.

NHS Collective End of Season Do
Excellent night out had by all with great DJ's (don't think they ever had so many Jam requests) and the Petty Hoodlums played a great set!! Have to keep an eye out for them!
Pete even went on the scooter, personally I think he was after points.

The Pilgrims League Table
In a possibly controversial decision it has been decided to end the Championship at the end of December and start again January 1st. In which case it's a big Congratulations to Old "Have you seen my lining?" Pete. Not bad for a man that killed two Rapido's in the space of a week!!!

This means that the new Pilgrims Championship Season starts January 1st 2007 so please ensure you visit the website for a full list of rules and email Donegal Paul if you wish to take part. Just as a reminder:

Rules:
5 points if you do the event on a manual geared scooter.
3 points if you use a T&G
3 points if you've had to fettle in any way shape or form with your scooter (2 if its a T&G)
2 points if you've had to be recovered.
1 if you've had to use a car
-1 if you've vanned or trailered it.

Specific Events only count for Championship points and there will be 1 extra point given for each event attended with the Pilgrims Banner on display.

The Pilgrims Pre Season Do
I know it seems a way off, but 3rd March 2007 will soon come round so get buying your tickets which come with a free Pilgrims CD. You'll either have to see Big Rob after Christmas as he's currently in Germany, or you can get them while stocks last at Sandy Scooters. A big thanks to Phil and Paul for this.

Big Things for the Year Ahead
It certainly looks like a great year ahead with the Pre Season Do, Margate Rally, many planning to do the Beetsugar Run in June, the NHS Collective's planned scooter day with The Jamm headlining and of course the August 2 for the Roade Rally as well as the IOW!

Sorry that this Newsletter's so short due to the season and I've run out of bollox to spout, however, before moving on, I hope that you all have a Great Christmas and that 2007 brings bigger and better scooter experiences! Roll on 2007!!

Keeping in Touch
Remember the club has a website at www.thepilgrimssc.co.uk where you can keep in touch with what's happening and even make suggestions on where to go and what to do. Failing that, you can just talk a load of bollox.
