September 2006
Monthly
Ride
This month we will be taking in the pleasures of Letchworth.
Yes I know that many of you will think this is indeed a contradiction
in terms, some will believe it to be a quintessential dichotomy of reasoning,
others will think as I do, "Is there a pub at the end of the ride?"
The answer being a resounding yes!
So, on Sunday 24th September we shall indeed be leaving the Piazza in
Bedford Centre at about 12 to 12.30 so all are welcome to either ride
with us or meet us there.
There's a (chargeable) indoor playpen for those bringing kids and they
have pool, darts, cash machine, outdoor play area, food and beer.
Also, it's worth points on the League Table!! More about that later.
Pre
Season Do 2007
It's been decided that we will continue with the idea of a pre-season
do instead of a Christmas do, mainly due to timescales but also because
the first pre-season do was such a success. It's unclear exactly where
it will be and the dates not set in stone yet, but its likely to be either
the last fortnight in February or the first fortnight in March.
Again this year there will be CD's and/or tickets for entry and to help
fund the do and these will be on sale in the gift shop in the foyer.
Baldock
Bike Bash / Mersea Island
Both happened the same weekend, that of the 2nd and 3rd of September,
mind you, while Mersea Island was a fantastic, if windy, weekend, there
weren't many Pilgrims there. You missed a brilliant weekend though!!
As for the Baldock Bike Bash, a good turnout apparently, didn't go myself
as I'd only just arrived back from Mersea though. No buggers bothered
to tell me though if anyone entered their scooter or what happened.
Kettering
Parts Fair - Sunday 1st October
Time for a parts fair, and in true near end of season tradition, there's
one on at Wicksteed Park in Kettering on Sunday 1st October. If it's like
the last one its a fiver in and don't forget that the free bits fenced
off and not free anymore!
The Pilgrims (and anyone that wants to join us) will be leaving the Piazza
at 09.00 and riding straight to the square in Rushden to meet the Diamonds
SC, then riding on from there.

Isle
Of Wight Scooter Rally
How was it for you eh?
Blinding weekend, loads of regulars there and great to see them all,
(the following has been added to keep the peace), however they arrived!
Fecking Vans
The write up is on the Pilgrims website for those that haven't had
a chance to read it yet and there's over 100 photos on there too! If
you have any you want adding then just email them to me.
Despite the breakdowns and problems many of us had, it still gives a
great sense of achievement to have gotten there, roll on next year!
Hemsby
- Winter Warmer 2006
Well, you all know its coming up so start planning!!
The
Pilgrims League Table
If you don't know about it, either, ignore it or find out about it for
a laugh. Remember ALL the monthly rideouts are double pointers! PS.
Quincy's in the lead so far!
Keeping
in Touch
Remember the club has a website at www.thepilgrimssc.co.uk where members
can keep in touch with what's happening and even make suggestions on
where to go and what to do.
