Ray Willis RIP (From PLVSC)
It is with deep regret that we have to inform you that one of our PLVSC members, Ray Willis, tragically died on his way home from our rally Sunday morning. All we know is that he came off his scooter and although he had help at the scene there was nothing that could be done to save him. The ambulance was not in attendance at the time.
Those that knew Ray will know that he was a gentle man and great fun. We will really miss him.
Over the many years of scootering Ray was a member of Bodger & Badger SC, Roaming Misfortunes SC, Peterborough Patriots and PLVSC.
Ray's funeral took place on Tuesday, 10th July and was respectfully attended by his loving family and many many friends.
We will always remember you Ray. Rest in peace.
Regular
Rides
A big thanks to all that turned up for the Regular Ride in June to the NHS Collectives Scooters in the Valley then on to the Vincent Bar with live bands, 2 BBQ's, custom show etc. I personally didn't make the rideout round Stevenage as a few of us needed petrol and the rideout started on time!! What's that all about then??
This month the ride is a short one to Henlow and it's this Sunday from the Piazza and it's to get to the annual Pilgrims BBQ!! We'll be leaving the Piazza between 12 and 12.20 ish so come with petrol in your scooter and fire in your belly.
Risely Village Fete
Dodge (you know, the one that looks like Stirling Moss?) organised the Pilgrims into formation for a rideout to take part in the Fete and pose for the locals and it was a great success especially as the weather actually held out!
Anyone else that wants to organise rideouts etc please don't hesitate to do so, it's a simple matter of chatting about it at either the Sunday meets, the Henlow meets or on the forums online.

Sandy Scooters Open Day
A massive success! How else can this be described, weather to get sunburnt by, bargains on the day, BBQ, bring your own auto jumble, a little music in the background, an expert mechanic for advice and to top it all off, free tea and coffee.
At one point I was told that there were over 70 scooters turned up and possibly attendance was up to about 100 people in all! Some came on their way back from Exmouth, others as far afield as Bristol, Wakefield and even one from Scotland!!!
Next Year? Music do in the evening? Who needs Camber Sands?
Speaking of which I ...
...believe that those that went to Camber had a great old time despite the weather, there are even reports that there was a pretty reasonable Jam tribute band on, they can't have been too bad as I heard that they got the Fred Seal of Approval!!
That same weekend saw Beetsugar with several attempting the trip in even worse weather and one having to limp home, jump on his BMW and managed to get there before the rest of them. Fair play to those that both made the effort, and made it there.
The Pilgrims Annual BBQ..
..is in just a few days!!! Yes, it's this Sunday with a ride out from the Piazza in Bedford leaving between 12 and 12.20, BBQ, bouncy castle, good weather, beer, women, wet T Shirt competition (subject to the women turning up in white T shirts and me remembering to bring a bucket) great music from the DJ's and from the live band Freak 4
