An Apology
First off, I want to say I'm sorry that I've not done a newsletter now since April, I've been a bit busy as you can imagine. However, I thought I should get back in the saddle as it feels to me that things have slowed down as a club over the summer and a lack of the newsletter may be contributing to this? So, without further ado, here's the August Newsletter.
Where did we leave off?
Well, as the last newsletter was April, there have been quite a few scootering events and quite a bit has happened including Gaz breaking his shoulder and writing off the T5. Still, he's recovered well and has seen the light of Mr. Innocenti!
Speaking of recovery, glad to see Old Pete up and about after his off the other month. I know he's not able to do the IOW this year but I'm sure I speak for all when I say " Get well soon!"
Pilgrims BBQ
What a brilliant day we had in July for our annual BBQ, a massive thank you to the 5 Bells as well as to the DJ's and the band even though they got caught up, all much appreciated! It certainly looked like everyone enjoyed themselves and if you have any suggestions or comments please let me know.
Regular
Rides
Been a while since we had one of these eh? So, where to this month, that's the question, and the answer is, there isn't one as it's a busy month scooter wise already.
The IOW dominates the scene this month, in fact it's only a week away now so get your tickets booked! Double points too for those that go for those in the league table.
Mersea Island
Just as a reminder, Mersea Island is the same weekend as it usually is this year, except it's NOT the weekend after the IOW! Why? Basically something to do with the way the Bank Holidays have fallen this year, remember how early Easter was? Those of you that did the Great Yarmouth Rally in the snow will remember I'm sure!
For meets and ride's down together keep an eye on the website and remember that this one's a double pointer!

3 for the Roade
What an excellent weekend! Yes it rained, yes it was windy, yes the rideout and many of the outdoor activities got rained off, however, you have to hand it to scooterists, it was still a great old weekend and always great to support a local rally! Bring on next year!!
So, the IOW?
Who's going and at what time?
There are a couple of Pilgrims options.
1. The Stupid O'Clock Run
Yes indeed, it's back, have a few hours sleep, get up early and meet at the Piazza to leave at 4am Friday, race down the M1, M25 and A3, grab a coffee and breakfast bap then race down to the ferry. At the time of writing I know that Robbo, Dodge and Mrs Dodge, Mojo and someone else are going at this time.
2. The Pimm's O' Clock Run
For the more discerning among you, you may want to consider this.
This is going to be more of a sedate run down the A1, round the M25 until we reach the M3 / A3. At this point it will be Pimm's O' Clock and we will be stopping for lunch and a drink. Once complete we shall wander down the A3 to the ferry.
The Pimm's O'Clock run leaves Sandy Scooters at 8am and there are approximately 8 - 10 down for this already. Also, there is a cafe open from 6.30am 100 yards from Sandy Scooters so if you fancy a fryup before going then get there early.
