Monthly Ride
Well ***ger me sideways and call me Phyllis!
Wicksteed Parts Fair was a washout, no not in the sense of the stalls and goodies but travelling up the A6 I thought I'd have to abandon my scooter and build an Ark at one point!! Waterproofs didn't help much and a couple of the 6 Pilgrims that turned up on the Piazza even turned back. Still, despite the drenching we all had a good day and some good results parts wise which is always a bonus when you've had to pay for the priviledge to go shopping.
The Polhill Arms run was a nice little short one as it happened, loads of the Borderline Allstars, Rushden guys and others easily outnumbered us Pilgrims as well as a few soloists, but it was a nice wee run up there and a good few hours spent languishing and having a laugh. So points all round.
Novembers Run will be on Sunday 30th November and is a bit of a special one. We're off to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of Letchworth. That's right, a run to Letchworth leaving the Piazza at 12 to go see Old Pete.
We'll head for that pub on the roundabout, the one the coppers stopped to chat to us that time.
The Pilgrims Christmas Do
Yes there are plans yet to be finalised but keep the night of the 28th December free for a Do in Bedford!! Not only that but it's likely to be free!! Details will be confirmed on the website and in next months newsletter.
The Friday Stomp with the Pilgrims
Yes indeed, on the 17th of last month our man Greg (Flash) organised another do at the Pad and what a night, good craic had by all and all for only a fiver.
Bridlington
Now, granted not many from round this way did Bridlington but one person that did and is worth of mention is Fred. That intrepid little (big) man is slowly working his way up the ranks of the VCB to the point that he was at the BSRA meeting were the venues and dates of next years nationals are held.
As such, and a genuine thanks to him for this, the Pilgrims website was the second website in the world to have these dates available! Now, get your calendars out and score some brownie points with the birds so that we can have a proper rally season next year eh? |
Speaking of which.....
...who fancies a trip to bonnie Scotland?
Yes indeed, on the evening of the 21st May 2009 the Pilgrims will be heading oop norf to Kelso. The plan is to stop somewhere in the middle on the Thursday night then carry on Friday morning to the National. It's only £15 which includes the camping and the do's on site. Obviously you'll have to budget for your petrol and oil, as well as food and booze but there will be a little subsidy for those going by scooter.
So, are ye up fer it Laddie?
The Hemsby Winter Warmer
What a weekend! We had a great ride there and back with luckily no major issues. A couple of snapped cables was about it. Mind you, if we hadn't noticed Gaz's air hose split he may have been coming back on the rear of an AA truck!
Bloody hell though, weren't there a lot of cars there this year?
League Table
I know that it's a bit behind but it doesn't mean it's not still relevant, never more so than this month with 2 chances for double points! So, if you think you are due points then make sure you let Donnie know.
