July 2009

Monthly Ride
Last month's ride was the Abscond to the Pond Run, which was hosted by the Rhoodmen of Rutland SC. Bloody good day it was too and a hell of a turnout. Apparantly they counted 398 scooters entering the event which was double the year before's!! There were a couple of stalls, food, drink and a custom show which had a few new ones making an appearance on the scene.

This months run will be this Sunday from the Piazza at 12.30 to The Five Bells at Henlow for the annual Pilgrims BBQ where our hosts have have graciously allowed us to partake of their nosh and beer again this year for the bbq and Bill will be spinning some discs too.

So, good weather, food, beer, company etc all for the weekend:-)

Inter-County Ride July - Sunday the 19th July
This Sunday's Inter County Rideout is hosted by The Doughboys SC from Wellingborough and anyone wishing to travel up with the Pilgrims will need to meet us at the Piazza at 10.30am fuelled up. We'll meet the other clubs between 11.30 and 12 for a 12 midday kick off to a nearby village called Sywell 5 miles away from Wellingborough.

Abscond to the Pond 3
This was a great day out hosted by the Rhoodman of Rutland. Great custom show and a great turnout too with over double the attendees on scooters than the year before!!

Shed Weekend 5
A great time was had by all most at this event despite the apparantly unprecedented amount of vans and cars.

Coming Up.....

Strangetown SC Weekender
Friday 24th to Sunday 26th July is the annual Strangetown SC Weekender at the Obelisk, Northampton. This is a well attended event every year with camping, food, live music, custom show and great DJ's. There's even a bit of 5 a side etc.

All profits from the rally are going to the Help for Heroes Campaign, prices are a tenner for the whole weekend, Under 16's free!! There's free camping and free shower facilities too! More details at www.strangetown-sc.co.uk

Tin Soldiers SC Weekender
Just when you think nothings happening, there's another local weekender coming along. That's right, the Tinnies are having their first one Friday 31st July to Sunday 2nd August. £8 for the weekend and Under 16's free with a fee paying adult.

Price includes camping, bands, music, games, custom show and a rideout to the Dunstable Downs.

Isle of Wight - Silly O'Clock
Yep that time is upon us again where many are deciding when to leave to go to the IOW rally if they go at all!
For those that want to leave at Silly O'Clock, or 4am in normal terms, there will be a hardy contingent of Pilgrims leaving the Piazza and going M1 - M25 - A3 on the Friday morning.

Isle of Wight - Pimm's O'Clock
Indeed if Silly O'Clock is too Silly for you then you may want to try this much more civilised and gentlemanly run. To be fair the terms "civilised and gentlemanly" are used in a fairly loose sense :-)

However, what I mean to say is, if you want to go at a reasonable hour then the Hooters and others will be leaving at approximately 8am Friday and travelling down the A1 - M25 - A3. Granted there's a little more traffic at this time but you're not knackered by 10pm on the Island either.

League Table
Not fully up to date at the time of printing I'm afraid. Been a bit busy!
