April 2006
Easter
Egg Run
A good turn out at the Peterborough Lambretta and Vespa Club
annual Easter Egg run on the 12th March by the Pilgrims and many other
clubs! I believe that the final tally was somewhere in the region of 170+
scooters despite Pete's cable snapping on him and having to do roadside
repairs. Apparently the tally included some bloke dressed as an albino
penguin on a Vespa.
Monthly Ride
The Monthly Ride this April is in fact the ride to the Ace Cafe
on the 23rd of April. Route to be determined but keep an ear out at the
Piazza Meets and watch your emails!!
Kettering
Parts Fair
Again a great turnout, not just the Pilgrims but also the NHSC and a few
of the Feckers rode up to the parts fair, about 20 of us in all. Uneventful
ride other than both SX Andy and Donegal both leaving a couple of skid
marks on the tarmac. Brakes are working then!
Other than that, there was some disappointment at the fact that the free
bit outside is no longer free but to be fair, dealers inside were starting
to question paying so much for indoor pitches if a large amount of people
only came for the free stalls.
Mind you, I still doubt that the bloke selling the GP headset at £300
odd had a sale!!
New
Scooter Shop
That's right, our own Chalky has opened up Sandy Scooters. Now
in it's fourth week they are busy busy busy! Paul, the mechanic used to
work for Grand Prix in Leicester and knows his way round Lambrettas, Vespas
and even other classics such as the Maicolettas. Give them a try!! They
are open every day except Sunday from 9 to 5 except Tuesday where they
stay open until 7!
There's a website on the way from them which should be up and running
within a month and there's a preview of this on the Pilgrims site!
Support

Another New
Scooter Club
Many
of you will know that there has been chat about a new club in the Milton
Keynes area. Well it's happened. Growing out of the Saturday Noon meets
at the Xcape Milton Keynes is The Tin Soldiers SC. Give them your support
as they support us.

The
Pilgrims Website
Anyone that has visited the website will have seen we've done a bit
of a makeover which seems to have gone down well.
However, after all the hard work of upgrading the forums themselves,
we had a problem which was traced to the host servers which deregistered
some of the members . Unfortunately the only way that this could be
properly rectified was to purge the forums and start again.
So,
when you next visit the forums you will notice that your old username
and password wont work, mainly as it was deleted, so all you have to
do is to register again to keep up to date. It only takes a couple of
minutes and its one very useful way to communicate with others about
what the clubs up to.
Keeping
in Touch
Just a reminder that the club has a website at www.thepilgrimssc.co.uk
where members can keep in touch with what's happening and even make
suggestions on what we could do this coming year.
