February 2006

Yes we're back!
After a quiet year last year it's time to get off of our collective arses and do something than drift through the coming year! So, in keeping with that, this is the first monthly newsletter we've had since last March!! Nearly a year ago!!!
So come on, let us know what we should do, chat to each other and lets get organised.

On that note....
....the Pilgrims Pre-Season Do / We Forgot About Christmas Do is imminent! If you've not seen anything about it then its at Sandy Village Hall just off the A1 from 7.30pm Saturday 18th February. There are still some tickets left so you need to either see Big Rob or that bloke who keeps getting rammed in the arse. No not Sol Campbell, Quincy!!

Does he take it from behind, Sir? Ooooh, suits you!!
Seriously, Quincy has been rear ended by some eejit in a fiesta. Now before you get all worried, the bike's fine and its only a motorbike anyway not a proper scooter!
What? Oh yes, Quincy's fine too.

Going back....
...to this year. Those that visit the Pilgrims website will see that the events page has been updated with literally every event I could find. All told there are 57 different events including nationals, regionals and even rallies abroad. So there's no excuse for not going to at least a few of these!! So lets get out there and be seen.

Club Scene
The beginning of this year sees a couple of new scooter clubs with meets emerging from under the flaps of their parkas and the rustle of flight jackets.

North Herts Scooter Collective.
The NHSC had their first meet at the beginning of January which was very successful and looks like its going to go from strength to strength.
The monthly meeting is the first Thursday of each month at The Highwayman at Graveley. More details from Frosty and crew.

They also have a weekly meet at Costello's Cafe, The Boating Lakes, Fairlands Valley Park, Stevenage from 10am. If you don't know where it is then join the Pilgrims for a ride out. (See Forthcoming Events)
You can email the NHSC at nhscollective@hotmail.co.uk

Milton Keynes Scooter Club
Again, more things to do a la scooter and meet up with mates.
The MK lads have launched a new website and will be meeting every Monday behind JB Autoparts, New Bradwell, Milton Keynes from 7.30pm. Additionally, they are also having a Saturday pose right outside the Xscape in Milton Keynes from midday onwards, every saturday. A good opportunity to introduce a new generation to proper scooters? Might be.
More details at www.mkscooterclub.co.uk

Luton Lambretta Club
The LLC have also launched a great new website with info on it's history and also on meets so make sure you give it a click.

Monthly Ride
The first rideout of the year will be to see our new neighbours at the NHSC on Sunday 26th February, only a fortnight or so away. Kick off will be at the Piazza in Bedford at 9am then the route will be via Henlow then Baldock, onto the A1 and down to Costellos Cafe. If you cant make the Piazza join in along the route or meet at Costellos, then there'll be a ride back to Bedford for those that want to.

Keeping in Touch
Just a reminder that the club has a website at www.thepilgrimssc.co.uk where members can keep in touch with what's happening and even make suggestions on what we could do this coming year.
