October 2004

Isle of Wight
What is there to say about this, the greatest event in the scootering calendar?
Reports from the troops were that it was a brilliant weekend, which only gets better and better each year!
Apparently there were a few strange coppers riding round on scoots this year, photographic evidence of the Pilgrims on parade as seen in Scootering and The Shed!!
As an aside, Apparently a couple of Pilgrims got chucked out of the King Lud after the weekend, for their dancing no less. Must have been bad eh? No names mentioned.

Deckchairs at Dawn
There was a good turnout at the Brighton Run in early September with members making their way there either by scooter or whatever other form of transport they could lay their hands on, just to join in.
And join in they did! It was Apparently a great day and the Pilgrims are getting more and more known with emails of thanks coming my way from a bloke down there that had a few of our lot getting his scooter started.
The only funny thing is, the only Pilgrims scooter to experience problems was a Vespa!! Ohhhh dear. Get well soon, Milton!

Speaking of get wells.....
Bill and Fay had a tumble the weekend of the IOW after his front tyre suddenly deflated!!! This was due to one of those Michelin Airstop tubes, so for god's sake check your clearances, but be aware that even that may not be enough.

Best wishes from the Pilgrims guys!!

New Club T - Shirts
These seem to have been a great success! Cheers to Woody for all his work, dunno if there will be more or not, speak to him when you see him. It will probably depend on how much time he has on his hands and how many people will want them.

Peanut Duck - What the @#+$?
Yes that's right, apparently the last one was cancelled and only through good old word of mouth did many find out before making the trip, including myself!
Just shows you it's worth keeping an ear close to the ground.
Also, on parts fairs, the Wicksteed Park one was host to several members including some with scooters for sale, and yes there may still be one or two for sale! See Mojo for details if you're interested.

Hemsby
The Winter Warmer is just round the corner running from the 4th to the 7th of November! There are quite a few Pilgrims going so get chatting if you're after a last minute bunk!!

The Pilgrims Christmas Do 2 - Friday 3rd December 2004
Yes it's nearly upon us already! The Conservative Club at Sandy again is the venue and preparations are underway to organise catering to go with all that beer and music.
As last year, funding for the event comes via the enterprising, and yet demure, Big Rob and his mixes. This year there are 2 cds to choose from at a fiver apiece. Catch the big man, or his boss (her with the glasses) for your copy. Your name will be taken and will entitle you to free entry to the Christmas Do!!

Christmas Toy Run
Yes, this year The Pilgrims are going to do a Toy Run for the kids at Luton & Dunstable Hospital, after all, is there a worse time for a kid to be in hospital. At the time of printing, we are awaiting confirmation of a time etc but will keep you posted. Watch the website, your inbox and the next newsletter for further details.
